Week 10: Always Stay

Happy Navidad, ladies and gentlemen. Sorry for the delay on this one. I got a little sick, and then Christmas smashed into life, but I asked the Song Challenge judges (me) if it was okay, and I was granted and extension. Sweet.

This week's challenge was "Around The Room Challenge", where I used a bunch of crap around the room in my buddies' (Erik Carlson and Ellie Moser) apartment to make the track. The bass drum is a racketball, other drums are knee slaps and practice pad, and there's even a train whistle. Erik plays some violin, and Ellie busted out the old cello some for bassline action. Please enjoy.

Week 9: Love Within

Hello Turtles,

This week was "Finish and Old One #3". This is a track that I finished a couple of years ago, but I wasn't happy with the lyrics. I've written new ones, and it turned into a song that I like much better. As we speak, one of my bass player buddies, Matt Melton, is working on a new bass track for it, so when that's done I'll post the new version and alert you. Since Sunday is our special day, however, I'll give you the Cutlet synth bass version for now. Please enjoy :-).

Week 8: Let go

Well hello, turkeys. Week 8 is a taste late, but week 9 will be on time (this Sunday, I promise). This week's challenge was MICROPHONE CHALLENGE. I only used the little computer microphone in my laptop and only recorded acoustic instruments (drums, piano). I definitely had to stretch my mixing chops to make it sound presentable, but I think it worked out. Please to enjoy with thorough turkeybelly.

Week 6 and 7: "Loving Arms" and "Up Down"

So this week is a two-songer because my singer friend, Nesrine, wasn't availble to record last week. Everything's all done now, and she sounds great as usual. Week 6's challenge was "Finish and old one" again. I've been wanting to finish this track for over a year now, so I'm happy it's finally finished. Week 7 was "Synth Challenge" which was SUPER fun. I used some old school drum sounds and ended up with a pretty hilarious vibe. Without further skuhdoo, here you are:

Week 5: Which Way

Surprise, boys and girls. Week 5 is done! I'm going out of town tomorrow, so I had to finish early. This week's challenge was "FINISH AN OLD ONE". I'm gonna do this a few times because I have SO MANY tracks just sitting around, waiting to enter your brain via your ears, or like, wherever.

Please enjoy.

Week 3: Waiting

Hey boys and girls,

Well, this week's challenge was SUPER challenging, but I'm pretty happy with the results. This week was "NESRINE CHALLENGE: Write and song for my friend Nesrine to sing (finally)". This is the first time I've written and produced a song that I don't sing on at all. Zippie!

Many thanks to Nesrine for singing ALL DAY on Sunday and dealing with my pickiness, and also to Jon Price for playing bass on this track. Errbody sounds good. Please to enjoy :-).
